Senior Design 05-06: Team 14
The Crew

- Design a boathouse within the Grand River floodway for the Grand Rapids Rowing Association.
- Provide a floodway analysis for approval by the Department of Environmental Quality.
- Supply foundation and structural plans for construction.

Project Update:
We are now in the final stages of our design process. Hydraulic design has been done since January, but work is being done to make a physical model of the river surrounding the boathouse. The model will show both normal conditions and 100 year flood conditions.
Our group has been working hard this semester to complete the structural design. All of the design is finally done! Now details are being drawn and compiled into a complete set of structural plans. A 3D Model of the building is also currently being constructed so people can see what our building will look like from all angles. Included in the 3D modeling program is the capability of a "flythrough", which gives a quick tour of the building on the computer.
