Senior Design 04-05: Team 13

Day 1: From steel beams to the base and A-frame (Feb. 24)

Day 2: Cut steel to use for building the truss (March 1)

Day 3: Welded truss together (March 2)

Day 4: Grinded edges off truss (March 11)

Day 5: Recieved second steel shipment, cut pieces for back legs (March 24)

Day 6: Formed back legs, finished building pins. The crane can finally stand up on its own! (March 29)

Day 7: Made pieces for top pipe connection (March 31)

Day 8: Tack-welded top connection together, put crane up to test for fit (April 4)

Day 9: Full-welded top connection and A-frame, got the whole crane standing up (April 5)

Day 10: Outrigger pipes milled, brass ring bearing made, grinding (April 14)

Day 11: Trailer boards bolted down, nut plates fixed to underside of trailer (April 21)

Day 12: Welded cross-members and larger pipe to A-frame; added extra pin joint supports to base; welded outriggers in place (April 26)

Day 13: Added lateral stability elements to truss; made longer pins for the newly beefed up pin joints (April 27).

Day 14: Formed the grabbers (April 29).

Day 15: Painted the trailer deck tan (May 3).

Day 16: Primed and painted the entire crane to make it beautiful for presentation night! (May 5)

Day 17: Added a second brass ring in the top swivel connection to give it more stability. The crane is done! (May 7)
