| This course is taught by Henk Aay in the Geology, Geography, and Environmental Studies Department and by Bob Hoeksema in the Engineering Department. |
Henk lived in the Netherlands until age 12. Most of his recent research has centered on the geography of the Netherlands. Henk speaks fluent Dutch. He has taught this course every other year since 1989. He has recently been appointed to the Meijer Endowed Chair in Dutch Language and Culture at Calvin.

Bob lived in the Netherlands during the 1996/97 school year while on a Sabbatical leave. He has taught this course every other year since 1995. Bob recently published a book titled "Designed for Dry Feet: Flood Protection and Land Recalamation in the Netherlands".
