Zuiderzee/IJsselmeer Polders

Early in the 20th century land was reclaimed from the former Zuiderzee.  The Zuiderzee was first cut off from the North Sea with the Enclosing dike.   Next, polder dikes were built in the newly created freshwater lake now called the IJsselmeer.  Water was then pumped out to form new lands.  We visit several sites in these new reclaimed lands.
