We will be continuing the tradition of a dinner and conversations in the years in between our regular conference events. Please mark your calendar for Wednesday evening, June 15, 2005. The cost is $18 (for a very nice dinner). We will have a couple vans to provide transportation from the Portland Convention Center to George Fox University (and back), leaving from the convention center between 5 and 5:30pm. If you are driving yourself, it is about 25 miles from downtown Portland (a map is printed on the registration form). This is a full-time, 12-month, hourly position located on the Upland campus. Resumes will be accepted until July 1, 2005 or the position is filled. Anticipated Start Date: August 1, 2005 Qualifications: Minimum of a MA in an engineering field from an accredited institution. Expertise in circuit design required. Experience with space instrumentation, microelectronics, mechanical design, and data analysis is desirable. Must have good project management, communication, and organizational skills. Must be able to thrive in a creative environment and be willing to learn new tasks. Responsibilities: Assist senior researcher with space science research, technology development, and data analysis. Mentor undergraduate research teams and provide consulting advice to student new venture projects. Supervise Ayres Alumni Memorial Hall labs and equipment, and implement safety requirements. Possibly teach engineering classes or help run class labs for Physics Department. Department: Center for Research and Innovation (CR&I) encourages and supports research efforts, industrial collaborations, and new venture creation across the campus. Location: Taylor University, a four-year liberal arts college holding to a strong evangelical Christian position, operates campuses in Upland and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Upland is on Indiana Highway 22, five miles east of I-69, fifty miles south of Fort Wayne and seventy miles north of Indianapolis.
