The Fifth Christian Engineering Education Conference (CEEC) is planned to immediately follow the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) conference (June 20-23). We will seek to deepen our insights and strengthen our collective outreach and witness as we engage in structured conversations about engineering education and the engineering profession from a Christian perspective. The program will be a diverse mix of presented papers and panel discussions on a variety of topics relating Christian faith and engineering. Teaching Position at Union ========================== The Department of Engineering (www.uu.edu/dept/engineering) at Union University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Ph.D. in electrical engineering preferred; however, candidates with M.Sc. in electrical engineering are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have P.E. licensure or expect to obtain licensure within 2 years of appointment. Working knowledge of ABET accreditation preferred. Discussion centered around how to fulfill a major objective of CEST to organize (at least) one session at each ASA Annual Meeting a. Three to four papers are sufficient to comprise a session. b. Abstract deadline is in January for the 2003 Meeting in Colorado. c. Potential topics include: - Papers that defend technology applications, drawn from personal experience - Papers on technology applications related to the theme of that particular annual meeting (e.g., Astronomy & Cosmology; Renewable Energy Resources in 2003) - Papers on applications of technology that solve important problems - Papers that include applications of faith principles in the workplace d.
