Ethics and Social Responsibility in Engineeering and Technology

The fourth Ethics and Social Responsibility in Engineering and Technology Conference June 9-10, 2005 and co-hosted by Gonzaga
University and Loyola Marymount University, is calling for participation from academics and engineers active in the industry.

The theme for the conference to be held in Los Angeles at the Marina del Ray Marriott is "Linking Workplace Ethics and Education."
Anticipated conference topics include:

Presentation abstracts need to be approximately 300 words in length. Panel discussion proposals of 100 words require the names of
committed panelists. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 1, 2004 and should be sent directly to Mike Stebbins, director of the Gonzaga Institute of Ethics, via e-mail at stebbins@gonzaga.edu or mailed to him care of Gonzaga Institute of Ethics, Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA 99258.

CSM Seeks Director of Liberal Arts and International Studies

The Colorado School of Mines (CSM) solicits applications for the Division Director of Liberal Arts and International Studies (LAIS).
This position will carry the rank of professor, and offers the unique opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary humanities and social
science environment at a world-class engineering and applied science institution. LAIS teaching and research emphasize emerging programs in
international political economy, science and technology policy, applied environmental humanities, and writing. As the Division's
chief academic and administrative officer reporting to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty, the Director is
responsible for all aspects of leadership, management, planning and operations.
