Air Flow Rate

air flow rate

This is the real-time data for the air flow out of a vent in a duct located on the north side of the Engineering Building. The temperature of the exiting air and the change in air pressure due to the vent are measured. This pressure drop is used to calculate the volumetric flow rate of the exiting air.

Using this data, thermodynamics students can explore the convective heat transfer to the Engineering Building lobby and the fluid flow in the duct.

The data on this web page is generated by National Instruments LabVIEW software and FieldPoint data acquisition systems.
