Team 9: In The Spotlight

Spotlights can add a lot to a theatre presentation or concert, but they come at a cost.  Each spotlight must have its own operator.  Human spotlight pointing is often imprecise and hard to coordinate.  Furthermore, spotlight operators often face occupational hazards such as heights, loud music, and burns from excessively hot spotlights.

Our objective is to build a spotlight system capable of tracking a stage actor as they move on stage without human guidance.  We also plan to make our own high efficiency LED spotlight.  The end user will select what actor they want to track via a graphical user interface.  This interface will also control other light parameters such as the intensity, so that the light can be fully controlled remotely.
