Matt Wever is from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and graduated with a degree in engineering with a mechanical concentration, along with an international designation. He has also accepted a position with Gentex Corporation. While at Calvin, Matt was involved with the Men's Club Volleyball team, where he played for all four years as a middle hitter.
Matt's responsibilities began with the design of the powertrain. He completed calculations to determine the necessary gearing reductions for the operation of the Treadnought. Upon completion, reseach of components began. He analyzed different engines, transaxles, and couplings available (either in stock for free at Calvin, or within a reasonable price range via external suppliers). After the chosen components were selected and acquired, Matt handled any necessary fabrication to them to ensure proper alignment and operation.
