Matt hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan. His primary duties on Team Knight Rider include construction of the fiberglass body and generally constructive criticism of other teammates. In his free time, he runs on the track team to give us at least a slight chance of doing well in this competition. After graduating, Matt will return to Ann Arbor and begin a job at Toyota.
A native of Grandville, Michigan, Brian is the primary designer of Knight Rider's frame. When we're tearing around the track at speeds up to 40 mph, our lives will truly be hanging in the balance of his handiwork (a frightening thought). Brian plays varsity tennis, blessed with a drop shot that would make Roger Federer gasp. He'll head to Gentex Corporation in Holland this summer.
Nate "City Boy" Steensma is from Rochester, New York. Like his favorite New York Jets player Tim Tebow, Nate is a jack-of-all-trades, wandering from project to project during the design phase. He sports a mean TIG-welding game and, and a steady hand in the fiberglass arena. Thanks to Nate, we discovered that you do, in fact, need respirators and gloves when dealing with large quantities of epoxy resin in confined, airtight rooms.
Ryan is the pride and joy of Westmont, Illinois. Recently engaged, he is looking forward to finishing out his academic career at Calvin before he retires to become a stay-at-home dad. Ryan assists on the frame design, as well as general drivetrain components. His good looks and charm have won the heart of many a vendor, securing us ridiculous student discounts for our cash-strapped team.
