IllinoisIllinois requires a copy of your actual Michigan certificate. They will not accept the 90-day letter as proof of certification. Follow the Checklist for out-of-state applicants. Complete these forms: 73-03C and 73-63 (send in both applications) Send forms 73-03C and 73-63 to to the Regional Superintendent of Schools in the county in which you plan to teach or reside: After you apply, you will receive a letter listing any additional tests that will be required through the Illinois Certification Testing System . You will need to pass the tests by the deadline included in the letter. The Illinois Basic Skills Test should be waived based on your Michigan certificate, but the content area tests are not waived. If you apply after August 25, 2009, you should not need to submit official MTTC score reports or form 73-99. For special education certification, Illinois requires 32 semester hours of special education coursework (not including student teaching, psychology, and biology courses).
