Program Admission

Requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Program:

• At least 27 semester hours of credit

• Successful completion of Education 102 and 202

• Successful completion of the Michigan Test of Basic Skills in math, reading and writing

• Completed Declaration of Major and/or Minor(s) Form
  (signed by the appropriate advisors)

• If you are a secondary candidate interested in a non-certifiable minor, complete the Non-Certificable Minor Form

• Cumulative GPA of 2.5

• Completed Authority to Search and Release Information Form
  
  
• After September 1, 2007, all applicants must complete an online background check. Students are responsible for the fee, which is $28 plus $13 for each additional county of residence.
  
  
• Completed Teacher Education Program Application - Email this form to educdept@calvin.edu or fill out a paper form at the Education Department.

If you need permission to take 300-level education courses and have not met one or more of the requirements above, please follow the appeal procedures.
