Endorsement Program

Calvin's Endorsement Program is designed for teachers who wish to add additional subjects to their teaching certificates. Courses completed may be used to renew the Provisional Certificate or earn the Professional Certificate. Calvin graduates must complete at least six semester hours of the program at Calvin and non-Calvin graduates need to earn at least nine semester hours at Calvin.

Teachers may add endorsements to their teaching certificates by completing the following steps:

The only online classes available are those in the Master's Degree program. Many endorsement program classes are only offered on-campus during the day. If you are teaching full-time, we will evalaute if we are able to accommodate your schedule through evening and summer classes, independent studies, and pre-approved courses at other institutions.

A graduate-level endorsement in K-12 Learning Disabilities is also available. Details may be found in the Graduate Studies Bulletin. Visit the Graduate Studies Web site for information about Master's Degree programs. It is possible to combine any endorsement program with the M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction.

Master's and Endorsement students are charged the graduate tuition rate. Students accepted to the program may be eligible for financial aid or Education Department scholarships.

Questions related to teaching endorsements may be directed to Shari Brouwer, Certification Coordinator.
