Society for Professional Educators at Calvin (SPEC)

What is SPEC?

SPEC is an organization for students interested in teacher education. We have monthly meetings that provide opportunities for professional development, discussion of relevant information, and fellowship among teacher education students. SPEC strives to develop professionally, serve willingly, engage socially, and communicate effectively.

Assistive Technology Playground

Come join us at the assistive technology playground! Learn about assistive technology in K-12 education. Play with assistive technologies at hands-on stations. Create your own assistive technologies to take home!

Join us for cookies and snacks as we talk about current issues in education.

SPEC is partnering with Harrison Park Elementary School for a pen pal program that could enrich the lives of both Harrison Park and Calvin students.

The Grand Rapids Challenge Scholars program encourages Harrison Park students toward college through academic support and college scholarships. Students can use help from you to envision what that future might be like.

We are looking for individuals to write short letters that offer students hope for and insights about attending college to envision what that future might be like.

10 minutes of your time could make all the difference for their future.
