Education Programs: Adults

Together with our partners, the Calvin College Ecosystem Preserve advocates for good stewardship of our natural ecology through restoration and education. We are pleased to host the following programs:

All Creation Waits Book Reading & Signing

Advent is the season of dwindling light and gathering cold, with a mystery at its core. Animals of the northern hemisphere enact that mystery. Their amazing adaptations to the dark and cold point to the abiding truth at the heart of the Christ story: darkness is not an end, but a door. This is the way a new beginning comes.

Pause on the cusp of Advent with animals that offer us a deeper way to live in this season. Join us as author Gayle Boss reads from her book of short reflections, All Creation Waits: The Advent Mystery of New Beginnings. The book contains a reflection for each of the first 25 days of December, each one accompanied by a striking animal woodcut. She will also tell the story of how the book came to be made — a story that includes the Ecosystem Preserve.

When:   Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Where:  Bunker Interpretive Center
Cost:     Free, no registration required
