4th of July

The Bunker Interpretive Center will be closed on Friday July 4. Please enjoy walking the trails, which will remain open from dawn to dusk.

GRAM Summer Art Camp

The Ecosystem Preserve is partnering with the Grand Rapids Art Museum to present the GRAM's fourth summer art camp from August 4 to 8. For more information visit the art museum's Web site.

Wetlands and Woodlands Camp

June 16 marked the beginning of the first session of our summer camp. All of the sessions are currently full, but if you would like your child's name to be on the waiting list, please call Jeanette at 526-7601.

Summer Hours

The Bunker Interpretive Center will no longer be open on Saturdays. Our weekday hours, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will remain the same. And of course, the trails are open every day of the week from 7 a.m. to dusk.

Reminder: No dogs, biking, or running on the Preserve.

New Banners and Paintings in the Display Hallway

Two landscape triptychs, as well as 10 banners are now exhibited in the main display hallway of the Interpretive Center. Please stop by to see these beautiful works of art titled "Delight in God's Creation." Three more banners will eventually be added to the display.

 

 

 

New Aquarium Residents

Once again the aquarium in the BIC contains fish: Fathead Minnows and Black Bullheads.

Spring Education Programs Over

Our spring educational programs for school ended on May 14. Over 750 students from 15 local schools attended this spring. A big thanks goes to our student and volunteer program leaders. If you are interested in volunteering as a program leader in the fall, be sure to view the "Get Involved" page.

    Painted Turtles love to sit on logs on sunny days
    Female Mallards and ducklings
    Green and Great Blue Herons (Buttonbush Pond)
    Muskrats
