Volunteer Opportunities
You do not have to be a student or faculty member at Calvin College to get involved with activities at the Ecosystem Preserve. In fact, we are blessed with volunteers from the community who assist us with anything from maintenance on the trails to reading to campers at summer camp. For more information on how your gifts and talents may contribute to the mission of the preserve, please contact Jeanette Henderson, Program Manager, (616) 526-7601.

Educational Program Leaders Needed
For those who enjoy working with children and sharing their love of the outdoors, program leaders are needed to lead elementary school groups through the preserve presenting a variety of environmental education programs specifically designed for the preserve. Leaders need to be knowledgeable about Michigan flora and fauna and/or be willing to learn and able to communicate their knowledge in a professional and educational way. Prior experience teaching and/or working with children preferred. Programs take place during the school year from 9 am to 2:30 pm. Time commitments vary. Training provided.
Artists, Crafters, and Carpenters Needed
Currently, we are in need of talented artists to create very large grapevine wreaths to be displayed during the winter months in the Butterfly House, create puppets for our puppet house etc. Please contact Jeanette Henderson, Program Manager, (616) 526-7601 if you would like to help with these projects.
