A stone ramp leads up to the temple's eastern entrance. Various blocks of the original limestone, along with a column, have been restored and re-erected. Past the peristyle and in the Pronaos were once displayed the famous inscriptions "Know Thyself" and "Nothing in Excess".

In one part of the cella were altars to Poseidon and Hestia, statues of Zeus and Apollo, and the throne of the poet Pindar. The other part served as the adyton of the oracle where prophecies were made. The arrangement of this part of the cella is unknown, though popular belief has always suggested an underground chamber with a chasm.
