Fun with Classics

Rotating photos from interims abroad and ancient artwork.Study, while important, is not the only thing we do in the Calvin Classics Department. Check out a few images (from the interims abroad) that prove that we students of the ancient world all have lives outside the study and classroom.

And here are some photos of a recent departmental picnic. Too bad it was a cool, rainy day and we had to stay inside.

While knowledge of the classical world is its own reward, each year we honor graduating students of Greek and Latin with departmental awards.

Want to see a gag description of our courses (printed in a student newspaper parody of the Calvin catalogue)? Just remember, we didn't write this stuff; a student did.

While it's not specifically classical, here's a funny tale about a student taking an exam at Cambridge University; we like to think he was a scholar of the classics or ancient history. (Actually, this story is told in some form at virtually all British universities; would this make it the world's oldest "urban legend"?)
