Giving Opportunities to Support Summer Research

If you would like to support ongoing research for students and faculty in our summer research program, we have established two opportunities for giving:

The Karen Muyskens Memorial Summer Research Fellowship in Chemistry

In honor of our late colleague Professor Karen Muyskens, this fund has been established to support summer student research projects. During her 20 years as a faculty member at Calvin, Karen mentored a number of students in her physical chemistry research lab and worked closely with her husband, Professor Mark Muyskens with whom she shared a tenured position within the department.

The DeKock Faculty Research Fellowship

The DeKock Faculty Research Fellowship has been created in honor of Professor Roger DeKock to annually provide one faculty member with a summer stipend to support ongoing research. Roger, a computational chemist, has worked with over 30 undergraduate research students during his time at Calvin. This fund will enable a faculty member to support his or her research during a summer when they were not able to secure external support for their work.

How to Give
