Programs: CAS Honors Program

To graduate with honors in Communication Arts & Sciences a student must:

  1. Earn a grade of B+ or better in six honors courses (at least 18 semester hours), including CAS 399 and a course in the student's CAS specialization. At least two honors courses must be outside CAS.
  2. Maintain an average GPA of 3.3 both in the major and overall;
  3. Present to the department an honors paper or project in your senior year, usually during the spring semester.

To graduate with honors with a Business/CAS Group Major a student must:

  1. Complete at least 6 honors courses (18 hours) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
  2. Complete at least 2 honors courses outside the major (i.e., neither CAS nor BUS)
  3. Complete at least 2 honors courses in BUS and 2 in CAS with an honors grade of at least B+
  4. Complete an honors thesis or project either in BUS 390H or a CAS 300 level course with a presentation to that department

The Communication Arts and Sciences department regularly offers honors sections of CAS 101 and CAS 140. Other courses may be taken for honors credit by arrangement with the professor.
