Background: Most contemporary images we have of the Third Reich are in black and white. It is sometimes easy to forget that it was a movement that liked vivid color. The images on the page come from the Nazi Party’s art monthly and are pictures of a 1937 celebration titled “2000 Years of German Culture.” The same issue has pictures of the dedication of the new Munich art gallery opened that year.
