Joy joined the staff of Calvin Theatre Company in 2007 andserved as the Costume Shop Manager for several years before becoming thepublicist. She currently publicizes four productions a year, as well asoccasionally serving as an adjunct instructor. She received her bachelor’sdegree from Northern State University (Aberdeen, South Dakota), where shestudied music performance, English, and theatre and her master’s degree fromRegent College (Vancouver, British Columbia) where she received theInterdisciplinary Studies Award for her thesis, “Flesh that Needs to be Loved”: A Christian Dialogue with ToniMorrison’s Beloved and Paradise.”

Joy’s interests include food studies and writing. She is aco-adapter/director for the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences’ 2012 production of David: A Play with Psalms.

She lives with her husband and young daughter.
