Michael Page "Best Actor" at 5th Annual NH Theatre Awards

Early in 2007 the theatre community got a peek at the top 3 finalists for the New Hampshire Theatre Awards (NHTA). Michael Page's name was listed in the professional division as finalist for best actor in a play for his role in Hobson's Choice with the Peterborough Players.

At the 5th annual NHTA ceremony on February 2, Michael received a best actor award for his portrayal of Henry Horatio Hobson. Since he is a long time Calvin College associate professor of theatre and communication, awards like this go a long way to dispell the rumor that "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." Michael can obviously do both.

In addition to his teaching, award-winning audiobook recording, and work with the Peterborough Players (New Hampshire) and the Boarshead Theatre (Lansing, MI), Michael is the director of the Calvin Theatre Company (CTC). In 2006 the Calvin Theatre Company received 10 nominations for its 3 productions. Arcadia, directed by Michael Page, received 6 of the 10 Grand Award nominations and was the winner of 3 awards.

The Communication Arts and Sciences department is happy to have Michael as a faculty member. Colleagues and students are blessed to work and learn with him. Congratulations, Michael, on yet another award for your excellent work. We're all proud of you.
