Overview

In this production, Walter Wangerin's novel is adapted and directed for the stage using puppets, masks, and actors. Part fantasy, part mythology, and part animal allegory, the story explores the depths of life's joy and despair alongside the problem of evil. Chauntecleer, the troubled rooster and leader of his coop, must learn to rally his kingdom together to fight against the evil of Wyrm. Winner of the National Book Award, this adaptation will surpass your expectations and surprise you with its beautiful storytelling, bringing to life all of Wangerin's incredible characters.
