Overview
In 1969 Lanford Wilson and others founded the Circle Repertory Theatre Company in New York, and dedicated it to rediscovering “lyric realism as the native voice of American Theatre.” Over the next 27 years Circle Rep produced and nurtured the work of countless playwrights, including such luminaries as Mark Medoff, Sam Shepard, Craig Lucas, and Wilson himself. The Company closed in 1996 but was reborn in 2000 as Circle East, dedicated once again to fostering the talent of new playwrights
Calvin College is proud to present a sampling of recent plays from the workshops of Circle East.
