Calvin Presents Musical For Children
The Calvin College Deapartment of Communication Arts and Sciences presents
the January interim class in Good Boogie, a musical for children
( ages 8 and above) writeen by Debra L. Freeeberg and directed by Randall
J. Buursma and John Worst.
Told with humor and vitality, this musical tells the tale of opposing
viewpoints: one warmly human and loving and the other of hatred and
distrust - the viewpoint of the Bogeypeople. In Good Boogie the
Bogeypeople become a symbol for those who instill fear and intolerance
in those around them. Two children of Bridgeport, Amy and J.J. Peabody,
learn of the dangers of intolerance and hatred and that it's hard to
hate someone whom you've come to know "deep down".
