Professor Risner comes to Calvin after teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, both traditional and non-traditional, at the Jetter School of Business at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She also provides consulting services through her own graphics design and marketing firm. She has also served as a Human Resources Assistant for Richland County Children's Services. Her presentations include “Coping Strategies used for Household Financial Management: Problem and Emotion Focused Coping in Diverse Economic Climates”, in June 2012, and “Equipping Students for the Marketplace through Liberal Arts Knowledge: Practical Applications for a Principles of Marketing Class”, in October, 2010, both at the Christian Business Faculty Association annual conference.
