We took the non stop overnight train from Beijing to Shanghai. Everybody got a bunk in a compartment with foor bunks. We departed at 7:44 pm and arrived at 7:12 a.m. Spent the night sleeping to the gentle sounds of train wheels. Discovered that we are travelling with larger bags than most Chinese are and with larger bags than the train compartment is designed to handle. But it worked. Earliest bed time yet as far as I can tell. Just read and sleep.
