We arrive in Nanjing Sunday evening and Prof Si's sister in law led us to a great restaurant...perhaps the best so far. Then a stroll in the ancient part of Nanjing. Nanjing is translated as "South Capital" and Beijing as "North Capital". Nanjing was capital of China during the Song dynasty and at the beginning of the Ming dynasty. This is all prior to about 1500. It has impressive city walls, mostly still standing.
The food.
