Well, we made it to China. All of us safe and reasonably sound. Got into our Beijing hotel/hostel in the early evening, got some food and went to bed. Most of us seem to have slept pretty well except one member you had to get up at 2:00 to watch Chinese table tennis in TV all night! Got up Friday morning for a big cold day of site seeing... Tianenmen Square, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven. The Temple of heaven was built about 700 years ago during the ming dynasty so the emporer coud go 3 times a years to pray for good crops. The attached pic is from there. When I asked our, rani, she said the emporer prayed to the god of heaven. They beleived in only one god then. This was not yet Budhism. Rani said this good is no longer recognized in China... apparently has been decommissioned. I wonder what would have been different if somebody had told them about the one true God of heaven back then. They were obviously aware that there is a true god and where earnestly seeking Him.
It is cold in Beijing!! After Temple of Heaven we went to a market. I bought a fleece to layer under my coat and a hat.
Group dinner was at peking duck at Quan Ju De. The table tennis fan was falling asleep!
