Working in the biology department
Each semester the biology department employs 45 students. Students have worked in the following positions:
- Students can be laboratory assistants who mentor lower level students in lab courses and assist faculty with grading.
- Research assistants do library or lab research in support of a particular faculty.
- Journalists investigate and report on biology news for our Web site.
- Greenhouse and aquarium assistants care for the living organisms within the department.
- Department assistants and tour guides offer hospitality and service.
- Biology students can also work at the Ecosystem Preserve as preserve stewards, program assistants and summer camp leaders.
