Recent art and art history graduates

Wondering what Calvin art and art history students do once they receive their degrees? They go on to pursue all sorts of paths, from architecture to teaching art in elementary, middle, high schools, colleges and universities to creating art in the studio, photography and graphic design. Here is just a small sampling of our alumni in action:

Bjorn Sparrman '12 (Bachelor of Fine Arts) lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bjorn is the winner of the 2014 ArtPrize pitch Night, Minneapolis.

Elizabeth Steiner '12 (Bachelor of Arts, Studio) is a Graphic Designer at Grand Valley State University.

Katie VanDam Potts '12 (Bachelor of Arts, Studio and Architecture Minor) is an intern at AMDG Architects in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She will be pursuing her Masters of Architecture degree at Montana State University.

Taylor Greenfield '07 (BFA) completed her MFA at Kendall College of Art and Design. She is an Assistant Professor of Drawing at Kendall and is also the events coordinator for the Urban Institute for Contemporary Art in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

David Malda '04 (Bachelor of Arts, Studio and Art History) completed his Masters Degree in Landscape and Building Design at the University of Virginia. He was selected as a 2009 National Olmsted Scholar. David is a Senior Associate at Gustafson Guthrie Nichol LTD in Seattle, Washington.

Zac Wanner '04 (Bachelor of Arts, Art Education) teaches art to elementary and middle school students at Ada Christian School.

Derek Petersen '04 (Bachelor of Arts, Studio) completed his Masters of Architecture at the University of Minnesota. He is an intern at DJR Architects in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
