Why I chose Calvin

I became interested in Calvin because I was looking for a small liberal arts school with some kind of Christian affiliation. I had gone to a Christian elementary and middle school and then to a public high school, and I wanted to sort of reconnect with the Christian community at large. Why Calvin stood out among the rest was for its media department.

What I found...

The DeVos Communication Center was new the first year I was here. The new equipment really impressed me, but I didn’t think I’d get to use it my freshman year like I did.

I also found a lot of people who had grown up in a Christian community who were starting ask the really big questions about God — which was comforting, knowing that I wasn’t the only one asking these questions.

I was able to connect with people who had similar life experiences to mine — who had grown up moving around a lot and who were used to discussing Bonhoffer and Lewis over the dinner table.
