About Urban Altruism

"Urban Altruism" is a research program--at the nexus of philosophy, theology, and social science--concerned with investigating the social capital yielded (or not) by urban social arrangements in contrast to suburban and exurban social configurations. The initiative currently involves two sub-projects:

Seminar (PHIL 390, Spring 2006):
Seeking the Welfare of the City: Urban Altruism and Loving our Neighbor(hood)s

Research Project (co-directed with Mark Mulder, funded by the Calvin Center for Social Research):
Subdivided by Faith? Urban Altruism and Loving our Neighbor(hood)s
